Happy New Year, everyone!

We’ve cleared up the glasses, taken down the decorations, had a short break and now we’re back and open! Firstly, Happy New Year to all our friends, locals, visitors and readers and the best of luck to all of us for 2012!

Speaking of 2012, who will we be seeing this year? We already know of a number of regulars booked in to the resort, so we’ll be expecting you here in the bar for a jar, or two!

If your new to us, 2012 could be your year! If you’re visiting the Costa del Sol this summer, drop in and see what’s going on. We’re already looking at the summer entertainment season with new singers, comedians and entertainers plus some great acts for the kids.

All the usual stuff, too… The Golf Society (that site really needs updating), the Darts League, Karaoke, more new creations on the menu (more on that later), plus of course, a warm welcome and a cool drink!

If you are heading down to La Orquidea for your summer holidays in 2012 and want to know anything about the golf at La Siesta, the entertainment, or anything else, let us know and we’ll let you know what’s going on.

The day is kicking off at Bar La Orquidea and the guests are starting to arrive!

Everyone’s full of Christmas cheer and soon to be full of our fantastic, five-course Christmas Dinner.

We’re packed for Christmas Dinner, but there’s always room at the bar, so if you’re close-by, drop in and say “hello”.

Pate and Toast with Red Onion Chutney.
Avocado and Prawn Cocktail.
Breaded Brie with Red Onion Chutney.

Turkey and Honey Roast Ham, served with Roast Potatoes, Pigs in Blankets, Yorkshires, Roast Parsnips, Sprouts, Mash and Home Made Gravy.

Christmas Pudding with Brandy Sauce.
Strawberry Trifle Cheesecake with Cream.

Coffee with Mince Pie.

Mints and Liqueur.

Yum.

Christmas 2011 Holidays

The Christmas Day Menu is set and the Christmas Karaoke for the 24th is organised! We’re ready for a crackin’ Christmas season at La Orquidea!

Come and join us on the evening of the 24th for a night of Christmas fun and carol singing. Always great fun!

Christmas Dinner is a five-course, traditional menu and we’ll be bringing your the details very soon!

New for Autumn 2011, we’ve started our Photography Club. Interested in photography or maybe learning PhotoShop? Then get in touch and find out what we’re up to.

It’s a social, weekly meeting, where we share images, techniques and hopefully, learn a little more about taking a good photo and editing it afterwards.

We’ve been offline for a while, but Summer 2011 was a pretty decent season, so we’re back on track with our new site.

The summer’s now, well and truly, gone and we’re busy organising the Christmas schedule. Christmas Dinner, of course, but Christmas Karaoke on the 24th and the New Year’s Eve party is always popular, so get in touch if you want to book.

It really was a great summer, though. And the most pleasant weather (even in mid-November) has been most clement.
